NIOS Exam Preparation
The National Institute for open schooling enables children to take examinations at the 10th and the 12th grade levels. These examinations are accredited equal to the CBSE examinations. The main advantage that NIOS offers to our students is the flexibility of time schedule of examinations, and the choice of subjects.
So far, we have helped over 35 children with learning difficulties to pass the 10th grade examinations and 12th grade examinations.
After graduating from the school, all our students are doing extremely well for themselves and are self-reliant. Some are even pursuing further academic goals by taking up courses such as hardware engineering, hotel management, nursery teacher training, and some becoming special educators themselves.
Our NIOS preparation wing has been in operation for over 10 years now.
Unlike other institutes, we have always provided in- house therapies to save parents the hassle of running from door to door for these services. Speech is an imperative communication skill of a human being and we believe that children with learning difficulties should have this therapy as an inclusive and integral part rather than an additional afterthought.
Occupational therapy is provided at Purti(school for slow learners and children with learning disabilities) to aid students in recuperating from physical illness. Occupational therapy encourages rehabilitation through the performance of activities required in daily life. Like speech therapy, this service is also provided in- house at the centre itself.
Imparting necessary life skills through academics for independent living is the primary objective of functional academics. From calculating time to counting money, from using a calculator to add up purchases to scientific knowledge, through functional academics we make our students able and self-reliant.
Cognitive and Thinking Skills
These skills are primarily taught through age-appropriate activities that prepare students for productive adult lives, blending traditional academic work with real life tasks
Life skills such as cooking food, washing dishes, food recognition and comprehension, sign identification, situational awareness etc are imparted to students at the centre. These skills are as essential as academics for a child to become self-supporting and unconstrained.
A visiting expert teaches children vocal and instrumental music. This activity also helps in identifying musical aptitude in children along with helping them to express themselves better. Music also aids in helping children with hyper activity disorders.
Computers today are a necessary requirement to our lives, and students are taught how to operate computers for communicating and creating content. Through the use of IT equipment, children are able to better learn intricate concepts and implement the concepts in practice.
